The Swedish/French design duo Färg & Blanche, Emma Blanche and Fredrik Färg, have been known for their innovative concept of stitching on wood. They have now pushed those boundaries even further by stitching on metal, with a new collection inspired by Samurai Armour from their art-in-residence experience in Japan last year. ”We were fascinated by the mix of hard and soft material, and how they attach to each other,” says Emma Marga Blanche. ”The different pieces create a shell when combined together, a protection in three-dimensional form. We were also intrigued by the fact that these armour conveyed a strong personality to the warriors.”

The solo exhibition Armour mon Amour will be held at Teatro Arsenale in Milan and opens tomorrow the 5th of April. It is always a delight to see what this highly creative duo will come up with next, with constant experimentation combining craft and technology.
