Posted @withregram • @misschiefs.se Atoosa Farahmand @atoosafarah is a multidisciplinary artist and cultural worker based in Sweden with an interest in politics, social issues and feminism. Atoosa is currently studying International Culture Project Leader at Kulturverkstan in Gothenburg. She mainly has worked in cultural institutions as a project leader, artistic director, choreographer and performer since arriving in Sweden as a refugee. Atoosa has widely exhibited and presented her work in solo and group settings around the world. Her solo exhibition KISS is on view at Linnégatan 4 until June 26th 💥💥💥

Graduate of Konstfack’s Bachelor of Fine Arts programme, Sarah Maria Yasdani’s Threshholds is currently showing at @galleriduerr. “The threshold offers a magical realism and allows performances to take place between dream and reality. An intangible architecture creates a spatial idea, an idea of difference, notation of rooms that exist without presence. A play between perception and imagination. An impossible synchronicity, two truths that oppose each other.” Thank you for the personal tour @yasdani.

Malin Pierre has recently graduated from Konstfack School of Arts and Crafts Stockholm with a B.A in ceramics and glass. She produces sculptural works of art using different materials and techniques, but her focus at the moment is glass. Her bachelor thesis “Hard Softness” is an investigation of glass as a material and the transformation from soft to hard. The original sculpture is made out of fabric with the inspiration from fashion houses and haute couture. The shapes and textures being abstract with the feel of soft textile. @malinpierrecraft

Visiting ceramicist Ingrid Unsöld at her studio in Södermalm. After graduating from her ceramic studies in Denmark, Ingrid worked in Interior Design for 10 years. She has now returned to her first love, ceramics. You can find her objects online on her website and at @tamburstore in Södermalm. In the first photo she holds part of the collection of plates on commission from a shop in Yokohama, Japan. Love the striped plates, and I did end up taking one back, see the last photo! @ingridunsold

Swede Sophia Edstrand’s jewellery and accessories are all hand embroidered in India using an ancient raised technique called Zardozi, translated into English- Gold work, referring to metal embroidery. Now living in Tokyo her designs can be bought online and here in Stockholm @svenskttenn where this photo was taken. At the coolest art space in town, @misschiefs.se thrills as always. Always new, edgy, expressive, exciting. New exhibition Grunch. 5 women artists, @hannoia @fannyollas @saragewalt @piasimensen @irina.laaja will continue with another post, as 10 photos isn’t enough. On for 2 more weeks. Go see it!

Designer and climate warrior Emma Olbers has consistently proven in both her work and in private to hold the highest sustainable standards. It is not surprising that she has been appointed as one of the flag bearers by the Swedish Institute for a new project, “Swedish Design Movement”. One of the aims is to push Sweden to the forefront of sustainable design, and inspire others in the process. “My focus when designing furniture is to be as environmentally friendly as possible, which for me is as low greenhouse gas emissions as possible. The choice of material is the most important, it accounts for 50% of a furniture’s total emission/CO2e. Longevity is another important parameter, and then they must be able to be recycled and repaired.” @emmaolbers

@acnestudios has done a collaboration with Danish ceramicist Betina Jørgensen with a limited edition “Face” collection. Although these pieces are only available at Acne Studios, @bettunika ‘s whimsical pieces are normally only sold through her Instagram account which is run by her daughter.

The artistic community here in Stockholm is filled with amazing, inspiring women. @theresatraoredahlberg artist, filmmaker, mother of two very young kids, and working for Swedish Television on art and culture documentaries. Interesting conversations at my kitchen table. Interview to come soon! But at the moment catch her stunning exhibition at Kalmar art museum.

Daniel Svahn is a Stockholm based multidisciplinary furniture designer and interior designer and artist working with both commercial and conceptual projects. “The past 2 years I have further developed my knack and passion for material reuse, up cycling and circular systems within the creative fields I roam in. With acclaimed projects such as “The New Goodies but Oldies” , “A New Paradigm”, and just recently this ReMake project with the municipality of Stockholm, I strive and aspire to highlight the possibilities of making new things from the old. A way forward for furniture and interior designers in the new paradigm that is circular economy, responsible consumption and production.” Seen here the book/expo shelf and room divider.
